Menthol crystals

With its typical strong mint odor and aroma, natural menthol is used in cosmetics for its cooling, refreshing, soothing and tension relieving properties.

FORMULATION GUIDE

• for oils and anhydrous preparations, melt the Menthol crystals in vegetable oil by heating to 40°C
• for stick type preparations and balms add to the heated oil phase as a final step and let melt while mixing
• for emulsions add to the heated oil phase as a final step and let melt while mixing
• for gels and aqueous solutions pre-dissolve it in alcohol of min 90°, at a rate of 1 part menthol to 4 parts alcohol
